Amy Tobey - ERYT-500/YACEP
As a mom of 3 boys, and a task oriented hurricane of agendas, Amy needed to find a way to reset. It was yoga that showed her a reflection of her ways in being. It was her mat time that unraveled all the unnecessary weight and welcomed the clarity of what mattered. Ever since her practice became her life’s mirror, a continued education of yoga teacher trainings has led her to the joy of discovering many ways to share.
Hooked on anatomy, and a keeping life a simple philosophy, Amy delivers the value of space.
A mindful based practice to tune in and discover all the simple things we can use to choose presence over chaos. Expect a breath lead flow and direct cues of awareness as we meet in our beats together. A little laughter, and a lot of unexpected moments to keep only this moment at task. A time to share only the very existence; away from our busy minds and our “to-do lists” that take us away from the now.
Learn not to rush and choose just this moment. Feel what it’s like to get out of your own way.
“To welcome, to allow, and to love is a way of moving forward. A moment between breaths is a pause. Within that pause is clarity of life and blessings. It’s become so clear that breath and body remind us of our presence. I’d much rather enter my day without a plan. To surrender vs. holding on tight. To choose spirit vs. ego.”
Professional Experience
As referenced, Amy has many hours of training, and her passion keeps leading her back to human anatomy. Our bodies are an amazing intelligent miracle. We are all built differently, and we are all shaped differently from our life’s experiences. Amy teaches how to safely and effectively use yoga to cultivate strength and flexibility. Her classes are wrapped around the energy and bodies that show up; direct awareness in the direct moment. With cues that are simple and relevant, students can have a better understanding of how to make shapes with their breath to create space that serves for their bodies as well as their minds.
A few surprises and magical experiences come when we allow ourselves to just show up, not knowing what is planned. To honor this very moment, we can begin to see how our reactions are a reflection of our lives off of the mat. From there, our breath begins to illustrate our re set button and manifests into the pauses that count the most in life.
One breath at a time, and all will unfold as it should.
